Chris played basketball at LHS for 3 years. During his senior year the basketball team won the State Championship. His High School Coach, Ted Juneau, called him "a true champion.”


He went on to play at KU where he was a four-year Basketball letter winner. He played on the Jayhawks' 1986 Final Four team and was an important member of the 1988 National Championship team. He has been called by some one of the best defensive players at KU.


He has served as an analyst for Jayhawk Television Network broadcasts for 14 years and for ESPN-Plus Big 12 telecasts for six years. "I have had the great fortune of being associated with KU basketball on the Jayhawk TV Network for a longtime."


Most recently Piper is working alongside of Bob Davis breasting KU Basketball games on the radio. Piper said. "I'm looking forward to extending that association through the Jayhawk Radio Network. I will miss working with our fantastic crew on the television games, but I am excited to have the opportunity to work with

Bob Davis and be with KU every step of the way.


Chris is the owner and president of Grandstand Sportswear and Glassware in Lawrence, which produces licensed collegiate merchandise.
